Next year, in 2025, my family will celebrate an extraordinary milestone—our 175th year in business. It’s a number that feels almost too big to comprehend, but when I think about how it all started, the enormity of it becomes real.
In 1850, with a horse and wagon, my great-great-great-great-grandfather began delivering paper from the steamships along the Ohio River to manufactures and finished books back. Imagine that for a moment—horses clattering along cobblestone streets, steam rising from the river, and a family just trying to build something that would last!
I don’t think he could have imagined what Taylor would become. But here we are, six generations later, with my dad, Drew Taylor, leading as our CEO and my brother and me proudly standing beside him as part of the 7th generation.
Growing up, Taylor wasn’t just a company—it was part of our family’s DNA it was (still is) the topic of discussion at every holiday table. I remember listening to stories about how the business had to adapt and evolve over the years. From the Great Depression to the technological revolutions of the 21st century, Taylor has always been about more than just surviving; we’ve thrived by embracing change while staying rooted in what matters most: family, trust, and hard work.
I officially joined Taylor six years ago, and stepping into this legacy has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. There’s something incredibly grounding about walking into a company where history isn’t just written in books—it’s alive in the walls, in the people, and in the work we do every single day.
But it’s not just about looking back. Taylor’s success lies in its ability to move forward. We’ve never been content to rest on our history; instead, we’ve built on it. We’ve embraced technology, leaned into industry trends, and grown to become one of the leading 3PLs. When you partner with Taylor, you get the heart of a family business paired with the scale and capability of an industry leader. It’s that balance—of history and innovation—that I think my ancestors would be proudest of!
Only 12% of family businesses make it past the third generation. When I reflect on that statistic, I feel the weight of responsibility, but also immense gratitude. It’s not lost on me how rare this is—how rare it is to stand where I stand, besides my dad, Drew, and my brother, Grant, as we continue to write Taylor’s story together with an incredible legacy of family that came before us to lay a remarkable foundation, thankful is an understatement.
As we prepare to celebrate 175 years, I find myself thinking about the people who have made this possible—not just family but every single person who’s been part of this journey. Our team, partners, and customers have all shaped Taylor into what it is today. It’s a legacy that belongs to all of us!
For me, this milestone isn’t just about looking back—it’s about looking forward. The world is changing faster than ever, and so are we. But no matter how much we grow or evolve, we’ll always stay rooted in the values that have carried us this far. It’s those roots—family, innovation, and resilience—that will carry us into the next 175 years.
To everyone who’s been part of this story, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, I’m so proud of where we’ve been, and I can’t wait to see where we’re going. Here’s to Team Taylor.
One Team, One Mission,
Noelle Taylor
Proud 7th Generation
